Natasha Salant

Natasha joined the Economics of Population Health Research Centre (EPH) as a researcher in September 2023, and began her DPhil in October 2024 under the supervision of Associate Professor Koen Pouwels and Dr David Smith.
Her research focuses on diagnostic interventions for antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and modelling the epidemiological and economic impact in the UK and Malawi.
She is also conducting research to evaluate the economic and epidemiological consequences of vaccine implementation strategies for chikungunya.
Prior to joining HERC, Natasha worked as a health economist in the Centre for Guidelines at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) where she conducted evidence reviews and developed models to assess the cost-effectiveness of clinical guidelines.
Natasha has also worked at the Clinton Health Access Initiative in Rwanda and South Africa where she worked with governments on health financing and health system strengthening.
Natasha holds an MPhil in Population Health Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
